It’s the time of the year… the 2011 LLS Team Jack’s Mannequin/Dear Jack Light the Night incentives are here!

This is a big year for our team. We have our most ambitious goal to date. $125,000. If we hit that goal we will have raised over $500,000 for LLS! With that in mind we decided to do something a bit different with the incentives. Something truly unique and amazing. Check out the details below and a message from Andrew.

Join a team HERE!

GOLDEN TICKET GIVEAWAY = Winner will get a VIP merch package (including an autographed guitar) and coffee with Andrew (pending Andrew’s touring schedule and a mutual agreed upon date)

- For every $100 you raise as a walker or virtual walker, you will get one (1) entry.
- If you raise $750 or more as an individual walker, your entries double (2x). For example, if you raise $800, you will get 8 x 2 = 16 entries in all.
- If you raise $1,500 or more as an individual walker, your entries triple (3x). For example, if you raise $1,650, you will get 16 x 3 = 48 entries in all.
** Entries for the golden ticket giveaway are the ONLY items that will be doubled or tripled. Physical incentives and/or concert tickets will NOT be multiplied.

Fundraising incentive levels:
$100 – $749.99 = become an LLS Champion for Cures (Light The Night t-shirt, wristband for free food and refreshments, and a lighted balloon) + 1 giveaway entry for every $100 raised.

$750 – $1,499.99 = DJF poster signed with a personalized message from Andrew + 2x the giveaway entries.

$1500+ = DJF poster signed with a personalized message from Andrew + 2 JM concert tickets for 2012 plus soundcheck attendence (pending tour schedule) + 3x the giveaway entries.

**Walkers who qualify for incentives may choose to donate their incentives back to the Dear Jack Foundation instead of receiving them.**

Terms and conditions: The Dear Jack Foundation reserves the right to modify or revoke the incentive program at any time. One walker per fundraising account; fundraising pages cannot be combined. The close of the Light The Night fundraising season, for purposes of DJF incentives, is deemed to be December 31, 2011. Incentives and winners of the Golden Ticket Giveaway will be determined on or about March 31, 2012.

We just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who participated as members of our 2011 Light The Night Team! We raised over $55,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)!

So, about the Golden Ticket Raffle…. we drew one entry from over 690 entries that each of our walkers earned by fundraising for Light The Night. We’re pleased to announce that Lindsay P. Watts from Richmond, VA is the raffle winner and has won a VIP merch package and coffee with Andrew McMahon himself! Congratulations, Lindsay!

Another person who was recognized recently is someone you might know: Andrew McMahon. The LLS awarded Andrew with the Dr. William Dameshek Award for 2011. This award honors the late William Dameshek, M.D. and recognizes a public figure who has used his or her celebrity to aid LLS by helping to focus national attention on blood cancers. Congratulations, Andrew!

Our national 2012 Light The Night Team Dear Jack Foundation page is now up and running. The local LLS chapters are hard at work securing all the dates and walksites, so some of the local teams haven’t been set up yet. As always, let us know if you have any questions at LTNTeamDJF(at)gmail(dot)com. We’re excited for the 2012 walks and hope to see everyone on the team again this upcoming year!

Friends,

We are very proud to announce that the 2011 Dear Jack Benefit raised over $35,000 for the Dear Jack Foundation (DJF). We can’t say thanks enough to all of you who came out and continue to support DJF. We’d also like to thank Fun. and William Beckett.

Looking back at 2011 gives us a great sense of accomplishment. We participated in our second summer on the Warped Tour, approached $500,000 in lifetime fundraising for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Light the Night Walks, and held the Second Annual DJF Concert. We were been able to support some amazing research hospitals, young adult cancer camps and programs, as well as other organizations like LLS. What we’ve failed to mention to date though is that the Dear Jack Foundation is now officially a fully operational 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

With this transition comes a greater freedom in our ability to not only raise money, but also to support our mission in the fight against young adult cancer. It also carries a greater responsibility to make sure we run Dear Jack as efficiently and effectively as possible. We will continue to be 100% volunteer run so that the highest possible percentage of money raised can be put towards research and life initiative platforms.

Throughout the year you’ll begin start to see some changes, starting with the website and how you can donate to DJF. We’ll have more tools for you to be able to spread the mission of DJF to others. We’ll also have better capacities to communicate with you, the supporters that make this all possible. So stay tuned, 2012 is going to be great.

Happy New Year and thank you again for supporting Dear Jack Foundation.

Sincerely,
Steve Smith
Executive Director
